Career progression

Working with one of the world's most respected research and development organisations, you could take a number of different directions.

Opportunities

As you progress, you'll have the opportunity to work across the full spectrum of R&D. There will be no barriers or constraints – you can move between global, regional or local roles and a broad range of categories.

What's more, we believe that science and technology specialist and generalist careers are equally as important. Which is why we give individuals the freedom to make choices that align with their natural strengths and aspirations.

Guiding principles

Wherever you take your career within R&D, your progression will be guided by a number of key principles. Through world-class professional development programmes, you'll build strong technical skills to ensure excellence in whatever you do. We'll give you every opportunity to develop both depth and breadth of experience through working within the discipline, cross-functionally and externally.

Qualities & skills

Developing new technologies that allow us to create radical innovations demands an understanding of the science behind products and how this can be applied to benefit the consumer. That’s why we need people who link research to business goals with the consumer front of mind.

Your degree is in chemistry, engineering, biology, physical science, behavioural science or design, or another relevant technical area. You have a passion for innovation and creativity as well as an appreciation that even R&D is deadline driven. Excellent interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills are vital.
